Have you lost your JOY? Does it come and go? Does JOY seem like it’s some kind of elusive thing that every once in a while you have grasped it and then it slides right through your fingers? I could say something like “finding your joy in life is no easy task” but I don’t think that would be true?
When I have a title talking about “finding your joy” it might come off as a hint that your joy is lost? Finding something means that you have lost it right?
What if finding your joy was just as easy…
I’ve decided to be that guy! Where ever I go, I set my cruise control on the exact speed limit. I’m not entirely sure if this is accurate or not but I do think that the people behind me absolutely want to tear my head off. I assume the best though and continue on in my slow roll fashion.
What has me in such an anti American, lackadaisical state?
It might stem from David Cain’s Raptitude. Google it….I’m not sure though?
The frenetic energy of always running around all over the place at the fastest possible speed has a tendency…
This is not a unique idea. I’ve heard this phrase before. At first I thought it was my own idea, then I googled it and thought “Damn it” some other badascial human being has come up with this idea! Ha! Love it!
What does this phrase mean to you?
Here is what it means to me:
Look at people deeper.
Enjoy the good and the bad that life has to offer.
Have a significantly higher level of acceptance of everyone in the world.
Be more aware of your surroundings.
Feel when you are out of alignment.
Smile more, laugh more…
Very rarely does anyone succeed alone.
When building a business, you either wear ALL the hats, delegate stuff out, or bring on a business partner. Maybe you just naturally created an idea with someone else and then decided to build it with each other.
Resistance is the cause of pain in the world.
So many things happen in life that get resisted. A death, a flat tire, someone yelling at you for no reason, you name it, you resist it.
What happens if we decide not to do that?
What happens if we decide to embrace all that is? Relinquish control. Allow yourself just to be. Allow the things that happen in life just to be there.
I can hear your hesitation already. We all want to control everything. We want to hang on to things.
Car breaks down on the way…
Can you build a business, a big life, or something AMAZING by practicing the UnGrind philosophy?
Yes, yes, I know UnGrind is not a word. Obviously it’s a play on the word UnWind!
I’m sure we can all agree that the world needs a bit of unwinding these days! So what is the UnGrind philosophy.
The UnGrind is all about the present. It’s not worry about the past failures or set backs and it sure as hell is not worried about the future.
UnGrinding is all about accepting and enjoying the current situation in which you find yourself in. …
Is full surrender to life possible?
To remain fully open to what life is presenting you; is that possible?
It’s a practice.
It’s not difficult but it is a practice that takes some time to really master.
I was first introduced to this concept of surrendering to life’s journey from Michael Singer in his second book, The Surrender Experiment. In it, he describes his journey to fully surrendering to what life presents and removing his own likes and dislikes about the subject at hand.
It’s an amazing journey that will really surprise you on what this man actually surrenders to.
This really can be way more fun and adventurous than we think.
We have a buffer to the outside world.
Our inner voice.
It protects us from the crazy and unpredictable out there. We really have no control over any of that.
Our inner voice creates this amazing little cloud of judgement, fantasy, protection, and sometimes just pure confusion. It’s our crazy roommate!
How often have you had a conversation with yourself about some situation in the past or something you are worried about that is supposedly going to happen in the future?
What good does any of this do…
What happens in a world that is as small as ours?

We now have the capability to witness and discover, in real time, people on the other side of the planet; what they ate for breakfast (it looked tastier than yours), what they drive (their car is WAY better than yours), how they live (their house looks clean and AWESOME and the spouse looks SUPER crazy diamond happy), etcetera, etcetera.
Amazing isn’t it?
I have this vast knowledge of what I think happiness looks like. I can see all 7 billion…
Mid month 30 day challenge! On a journey we are; it’s a fun one!

It all started a couple months ago, when I was out to lunch with a good friend of mine and fellow podcaster, Don MacPherson of 12 Geniuses. He was telling me a story about some kind of coffee challenge where he heard about a guy asking for a 10% discount whenever he visited a coffee shop.
The story was about a gentleman doing just that along with purposely sitting in the wrong seat on an airplane…
